Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 7, 2026

This policy explains what information ZMB Utilities LLC ("ZMB Utilities," "we," "us") collects through zmbutilities.com (the "site"), how we use it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. The site is a business website for companies that need underground construction services and for people who want to work with us.

1. Information you send us

Quote requests. Your name, email address and the service you need (required), and, if you choose to add them, your company, phone number, project location, scope or footage, target start date, a link to prints, and any message.

Job applications. Your name, phone number, email address, the position you are interested in and a description of your experience (required), and, if you choose to add them, where you are based and whether you hold a commercial driver's license (CDL).

Our forms do not accept file uploads. If you share a link to prints or other documents, we open it only to review your request. The files stay with the service that hosts them (for example Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox), under that service's terms and the sharing settings you choose.

Please do not send Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, bank or payment card numbers, or health information through the site. We do not need them at this stage.

2. Information collected automatically

Hosting and security. The site is hosted and protected by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver pages and block attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request, and keeps it in security and performance logs for limited periods that it sets.

Bot protection on our forms. Our quote and application forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people apart from automated programs. Turnstile evaluates technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address, browser information and connection characteristics. When you submit a form, our server sends the Turnstile result and your IP address to Cloudflare to confirm the check.

Site statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate information such as page views, referring websites and how quickly pages load. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors. We see only aggregate reports, not information about individual visitors.

3. Cookies

We do not set cookies ourselves, and we do not use advertising, analytics or social media cookies. Cloudflare may place strictly necessary security cookies when it needs to check for automated traffic — for example __cf_bm (bot protection, short-lived) or cf_clearance (records that your browser passed a security check). These cookies are not used for advertising or to follow you to other websites. If you block them, parts of the site, including the forms, may not work.

4. How we use information

  • To review and respond to quote requests, prepare proposals, and manage any project or business relationship that follows.
  • To review job applications, contact applicants and make hiring decisions.
  • To keep records the law requires, and to establish or defend legal claims.
  • To keep the site and its forms secure and to prevent spam, fraud and abuse.

We do not build marketing profiles, and we do not add the people who contact us to marketing email or text lists.

5. How we contact you

We may reply by email, or by phone call or text message to the number you give us, about your request or application. We do not send marketing text messages. To stop texts, reply STOP or tell us by email, and we will stop promptly. Message and data rates may apply.

6. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising. We disclose information only:

  • To service providers that handle it for us: Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, security, form processing and a backup copy of each form submission); Resend (delivery of form submissions by email to our company inbox); Google (Google Workspace, which hosts our business email); and our website administrator, which maintains the site and its form systems.
  • To general contractors, project owners or subcontractors — only the project details needed to prepare or perform work you asked us to quote.
  • When the law, a subpoena or a court order requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of ZMB Utilities, our employees or others.
  • To a successor organization if our business is reorganized, merged or sold, which must keep protecting the information as this policy describes.

7. How long we keep information

  • Website backup copy. Each form submission is stored in our Cloudflare database and deleted automatically 365 days after we receive it.
  • Email delivery service. Resend's published documentation says it keeps message content and delivery logs for 30 days.
  • Quote requests in our business mailbox. We keep them as long as needed to respond and to manage any resulting work, and as billing, tax and legal record requirements call for.
  • Job applications. We keep them for the periods employment record-keeping laws require, and longer if a legal claim or government charge is pending.
  • Security logs. Cloudflare keeps these for the short periods it sets.

8. Your choices and requests

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. Email contact@zmbutilities.com or write to us at the address below. To confirm your identity, we may ask you to reply from the email address you used on the form. We aim to respond within 45 days. We may keep some information if the law requires it or if we need it for a legal claim, and if so we will tell you. You will not be treated differently for making a request.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. We do not sell or share personal information and we do not track visitors across websites. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale and sharing. The site does not respond differently to Do Not Track signals, because it does not track you across websites.

9. Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections with strict security headers. Our forms reject file uploads, every submission is checked for automated abuse before we accept it, and submissions go only to one fixed company inbox. Access to stored submissions is limited to authorized people.

No system is completely secure. If we learn of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will investigate, take steps to contain it, and notify affected people and authorities as the law requires, including under the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act.

10. Children

The site is meant for businesses and for job seekers aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Where information is processed

We are a U.S. company, and the site is meant for people and businesses in the United States. Information is processed in the United States. Because Cloudflare runs a global network, technical information may also be processed in other countries where Cloudflare has data centers.

12. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we post the updated version on this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will post a notice on the site before the change takes effect.
